Singapore will become the first nation to formally adopt the ITF World Tennis Number but momentum is building rapidly with 47 nations already signed up to launch the innovative new digital platform in the coming months.

ITF World Tennis Number will establish a single global tennis rating for players of all ages, genders and abilities, making it easier than ever for people to find opponents that are evenly matched to them, wherever they are in the world. What’s more, it’s free to use.

More than just a sports application, the ITF World Tennis Number has been developed to drive participation by creating the world’s largest community of tennis players, enabling more people at all levels to play and enjoy our sport.

Featuring a host of innovative features, the ITF World Tennis Number is powered by a state-of-the-art algorithm that analyses performance data and millions of match results in order to provide players with a real-time skill level rating that will enable them to have more meaningful and enjoyable tennis experiences.

ITF President David Haggerty said: “The ITF are committed to growing the sport of tennis and the launch of the ITF World Tennis Number represents a significant milestone on our journey to reach 120 million players by 2030. Given the significant support from our member national associations around the world, the project has the potential to be a game-changer for recreational tennis. I would like to congratulate the Singapore Tennis Association for being the first to officially launch the platform to their players. With 47 nations already signed up and many more to follow in the coming months, this is a truly exciting time for our sport.”
