WTN ‘My Club’ Launched in Ireland

The World Tennis Number (WTN) continues to evolve as a powerful tool for players, coaches, and federations around the world — and today, we’re excited to introduce our latest innovation: ‘My Club’, a brand-new feature designed to strengthen the connection between tennis players and their clubs.

As part of our commitment to supporting tennis communities at every level, My Club will be piloted first in Ireland, working closely with Tennis Ireland and a selected group of clubs to gather feedback, refine functionality, and ensure the feature delivers meaningful value before wider global rollout.

What Is ‘My Club’?

My Club is a new club-registration and engagement tool within the WTN ecosystem that allows players to:

• Select and connect with their home club(s) directly in their WTN player profile
• See where they stand amongst their playing community
• Compare their WTN with other members
• Help clubs gain a clearer picture of their active playing community
• Support future club competition and programming, enabling better-aligned events based on player profiles, skill levels, and participation needs 

Why Ireland?

Ireland has been an early and enthusiastic adopter of the WTN, using the rating system across national competitions, local tournaments, and club activity. With strong engagement from both administrators and players, the environment is ideal for trialing a feature that directly supports club-level participation.

Together with Tennis Ireland, we will be working closely with club administrators, coaches and players of all ages and levels to gather insights on usability, impact, and opportunities for future enhancements.

How the Pilot Will Work

During the pilot phase, players in Ireland will begin to see the My Club feature appear within their WTN profile and will be encouraged to select which club they play in.

This data will help the ITF refine how My Club can best empower clubs around the world — from increasing social play to structuring more relevant competitive opportunities.

Supporting Clubs, Growing the Game

Clubs sit at the heart of tennis. They are where people learn the game, develop their skills, and stay connected to the sport. By giving clubs better visibility into their player communities, My Club aims to:

• Strengthen relationships between players and their local clubs
• Encourage regular play and retention, specifically using the My Matches feature
• Support better-designed competitions and events
• Build a more vibrant tennis ecosystem for players of all ages

This feature forms part of our wider mission to use the WTN to drive participation and performance globally.

What’s Next?

Following the Ireland pilot, we will review feedback and user insights carefully before rolling out My Club to additional nations and enhancing the functionality.
